I got my hands on Windows 8 Professional RTM will be doing a follow up to my previous post.  Sounds like a few things where unlocked with this version.

I still have yet to install and test it on my laptop, but it seems that there is some privacy and security issues with 8 already. I have been a bit busy with work and all to start the install process, in which I might make an image of my laptop before proceeding because if windows 8 breaks upon installing I’ll most likely loose everything.

Windows 8 is different indeed.

So I took the liberty to finally install the preview release on my laptop. I am going to say is this, what a rip off on the UI design from AOL, but I guess the guys in Redmond, WA. must really think it’s different.

It’s not too bad in the function, the GUI is smooth. But I don’t like the phone feel to the computer, it would be great as a tablet os.

The desktop is now an application, the control panel is completely different but not far from different. Start menu brings up the metro application. IE10, just looks the same, not a big difference there at all.
Overall, I think it is ok. I will personally wait till windows 9 because I am sure by then the metro wont be like it is now with windows 8.  Metro feels just too tacky, and a possible flop.

We will see when the RTM is released.
